Terms of Service
Last updated: January 2026
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using FillPDF.app (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.
2. Description of the service
FillPDF.app is a free, browser-based tool that lets you open PDF files, add annotations such as text, checkmarks, dates, signatures, highlights, shapes, and images, and download the completed document. All processing is performed locally in your browser. No account is required.
3. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
- Any PDF you process will render or download perfectly.
- The Service will work on every browser, device, or PDF file.
- Any given PDF will be readable, editable, or compatible.
4. Your responsibilities
You are solely responsible for:
- The PDF files you choose to open and edit.
- Ensuring you have the legal right to fill, sign, or modify those documents.
- Reviewing any downloaded PDF for accuracy before submitting it.
- Any consequences resulting from submitting a completed document.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Forge signatures, documents, or official records unlawfully.
- Violate any applicable law or regulation.
- Infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or reverse-engineer the Service.
- Process files you do not have the legal right to process.
6. Intellectual property
You retain full ownership of any PDF you process with FillPDF.app. We claim no rights over your documents. Because we never receive your files, we cannot and do not use them for any purpose.
The FillPDF.app name, logo, and website design are our property. The third-party open-source libraries used (PDF.js, pdf-lib) are licensed under their respective open-source terms.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FillPDF.app and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
- Any error, omission, or inaccuracy in a downloaded document.
- Any unauthorized access to or use of our servers.
- Any interruption or cessation of transmission to or from the Service.
8. Privacy
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle technical information. In short: we do not receive or store your PDFs.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on a small number of third-party providers (Cloudflare CDN for libraries, GitHub Pages for hosting). We are not responsible for the availability or performance of those services.
10. Changes to the service or terms
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service at any time, without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in the operator's jurisdiction, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
